Make sure to leave room for those garlic cheese curds or the smokehouse burger—each bite is a reminder why this local favorite continues to earn heartfelt praise year after year.
My partner and I went here for dinner on a Saturday night in the summer. We sat on the deck and there was live music from a local band, overall great atmosphere outside. We shared the garlic cheese curds - they were awesome! The walleye sandwich and smokehouse burger were also very good. It is seat yourself and we were helped after a reasonable wait — just show up in a good mood, have patience and grace with the staff, and you will leave happy and full.
We stopped by on a Sunday around lunchtime and were able to get seats right away. Our waiter was very fast and friendly. The food was pretty good and the beer selection was solid. All that, plus twice weekly meat raffles? Yes please. Overall a good experience- this lake/town is fortunate to have this here.
The town was closed down so I stopped here for a break. I was thirsty and just wanted to buy a soda and a snack and get back on the road. I was surprised that I couldn’t get a Coke and some chips or something. They didn’t have “to go” drink containers or cans / bottles of nonalcoholic drinks except for Sprite because they used it as a mixer. I got the Sprite! Then no snack unless it was an appetizer. The price was expensive ($14) for cheese curds and had to wait instead of a “to go” snack to eat in the car. A little greasy. On the upside? What a cute place on the water! The bartender was a sweetheart and the people looked like they were having fun getting ready for Bingo or something
We stopped when out for a motorcycle the place was just amazing inside but the outside was even better. You can sit and watch the boats go through or ride your own boat up it has at least 4 docks...but wish it had better signs because if it wasn't for the couple we were with having been there before we would have missed the great views.
I had the Bourbon Bacon Cheeseburger. Dude was that crazy delicious. Their french fries were also to die for. They were super crunchy and the fries didn't have any of that crappy seasoning that a lot of restaurants like to use. My wife had the French Dip and that was crazy delicious as well. I'd say it's time for you to take a road trip. Can't wait to go back and try other things on the menu.
